TECHNIQUE TRAINING DURING THE 12 WEEK CYCLE

FIRST STEP: Private assessment & Filming (sometime within the first few weeks)

You'll book in for your initial assessment with one of our teachers/assistants. This will be a 15-30 min session. They'll film all the initial movements with you, and give you a list of improvement items that we'll work on with you over the 12 week period.

To see a list of items you'll need to film, and should know/prepare ahead of the session, click on each of the "REFINING" items dropdowns below!

What is Salsa 2.5?

Salsa 2.5 is a structured 12-week progression program designed for students who have completed all 6 months of Salsa 2.0 (or equivalent experience). It sharpens your technique, increases your confidence, and prepares you for Level 3.0.

The course focuses on refining your existing foundations so you become a smoother, more accurate, and more enjoyable social dancer.

When is the class?

Salsa 2.5 runs on Wednesdays, 8pm-9pm

Then we have social dancing time after class (optional) 9pm-925pm

What’s the difference between Salsa 2.0 and Salsa 2.5?

Salsa 2.0 = Learning the Moves

Salsa 2.0 is all about learning the core subjects of intermediate salsa.

Over 6 months, you’re introduced to the main building blocks:

Inside turns

Outside turns

Copas

Block turns

Reverse cross-body lead

Left turns

Each month focuses on one subject so you can build a solid foundation and learn all the key variations.

Salsa 2.5 = Mastering the Moves

Salsa 2.5 is where you take everything from 2.0 and sharpen it.

It’s a 12-week progression program designed to turn you from “I know the move” to “I dance it with control, confidence, and technique.”

Here’s what makes 2.5 different:

1. Technique Deep Dives

Each cycle focuses on one subject from 2.0 but at a far higher technical level — connection, timing, styling, frame, body movement, partner awareness, and control.

2. Assessment Weeks Every 2 Weeks

You’re tested on the subject so you get specific, personalised feedback and know exactly what to improve.

3. Two Assessment Sessions

You film your dancing at the start and end of the program so you can see (and feel) your progress.

4. One Goal: Prepare You for Level 3.0

Salsa 3.0 is a big jump.

Salsa 2.5 ensures you walk in confident, ready, and technically solid.

In short:

2.0 = “I learned the moves.”

2.5 = “I dance the moves properly.”

What's included?

12 classes x 60 mins

Two 30-minute assessment sessions with a coach: one at the start (Week 1) to identify what you need to work on, and one at the end (Week 12) to measure improvement and see if you're ready for Level 3.0.

How does the 12-week program work?

Salsa 2.5 runs in 6 cycles, each lasting 2 weeks:

Week 1: Deep-dive training on one Salsa 2.0 subject (e.g., Copa, Inside Turns), with advanced drills, styling, technique upgrades, and connection work.

Week 2: Assessment week — you test the subject, refine details, and receive personalised feedback.

You can join at the start of any 2-week cycle, and you’ll complete all six over the full 12 weeks.

Do missed classes roll over?

Yes, your credits can be rolled over without expiry!

Can I pause my $29 membership plan?

No — the $29/week membership can’t be paused.

This membership is a discounted package price for the full 12-week program, and it relies on 12 uninterrupted weekly payments. After the 12 payments are complete, the membership automatically stops.

If you miss a class during the term, your class credits will rollover and stay on your account for future use — but they cannot be transferred to other levels or used outside the Salsa 2.5 program.

What are the assessments?

You get two 30-minute assessment sessions with a coach:

Week 1: Film your 2.0 variations + receive a personalised list of what to improve. You can do this anytime within the first 2-3 weeks of starting.
Week 12: Re-film to measure progress and check if you're ready for Level 3.0.

Can I join at any time?

You can join at the start of any 2-week cycle,

What are the prerequisites?

You must have completed all 6 months of Salsa 2.0 at TSF (or equivalent at another school). You should know all 2.0 subjects and be comfortable social dancing them.

How do I progress to Level 3.0?

After your final assessment, your coach will confirm if you're ready. If not, you can repeat 2.5 again (discounted)— many students do this to polish everything.

How much does it cost?

$289 for the full 12-week program, OR
$29/week on autopay
